My summary blog for Hacksaw Ridge
- He was a combat medic but he couldn’t hold a weapon because as a kid he almost killed his brother with a brick. And also because of the command of “thou shall not kill”. The experience of wanting to shoot his Dad with a gun also influenced his decision to not hold a weapon.
- Desmond Doss met Dorothy who would be his future wife in the hospital after helping someone who got ran over by a carriage. After seeing her once she fell in love instantly and came back the next day to donate blood. He then asked her out to watch a movie and just before he left to go to war they got married.
- Desmond was supposed to go to the wedding ceremony but he got placed in jail for breaking military rules. Dorothy then visited Desmond in jail and made change his mistakes.
