Task Description: Yesterday in the CLM Leadership course, we continued to learn increasingly more about leadership and what kind of leaders we are. The main 2 topics that were shown and told to us were communication and types of leadership. We have done the whole session surrounding that topic, including the games that we have done.
At the beginning of the session we started off with a short warm up game, where we were split into teams of 9 to make structures using our body. This activity made us work together and gradually learn how to properly communicate with each other. This activity wasn’t so difficult to complete and it only took up a few minutes of time. After the warm up everyone felt more energised and less dull. Once our teachers settled down and had our paperwork in their hands, they talked us through the topic and gave us a few questions to answer. The 2 questions they asked were about communication. An example of these questions are, “What does good communication look like” and ”How do you show good communication at break. We were given around 5-10 minutes per question so that we could discuss in our groups and write down answers.
The next topic we discussed is the type of leadership there are. We simply stayed put in our groups as we had to choose which type of leadership we were and write down our reasoning for it. The 3 types of leadership were Autocratic, Democratic and Laze-fair. My whole group chose Democratic due to the fact that it was possibly one of the best types of leadership. To conclude this session we had a short game of tarp-turn, where we did have to work together in a group once again. All inclusive, This session was based on the topics communication and types of leadership.
