Ko wai au: Discovery

Kia Ora, today I will be discussing how my Ko wai au project went I was the first person to present my project in front of the whole class it was very nerve-racking explaining things about yourself that people don’t know about you. In my project I talked about the meaning of my name, and how it carriers honor and pride and a name that constantly reminds me of the bound and love shared with my whanau.

I also talked about my culture and how i’m proud to be Maori, I value my culture which has taught me respect for my whanau and elders, Rangatiratanga showing leadership and being a role model. This has taught me to stand strong in my identity knowing that I will achieve anything I put my mind to by standing on the shoulders of my ancestors.

I also talk a lot about myself and the things I value, I have facts about my culture so tradtionally Maori people cook they food underground, when maori people greet they do a thing called hongi where they press they noses and foreheads.
