After all these weeks of practice the year 7/8s finally performed! On Thursday the 25th, the intermediates went to the new sports centre in town where some schools all across Christchurch were performing. It was a very cold, windy raining night – Which didnt help coming in and out.
When we got there we went and had a sneak peek at where we were performing – and my gosh I was surprised.
We were performing where the netball courts were, but one of the courts had carpet laid down on it with a big open square that was all court ( which is where we were performing ).
We were 7th to go on, and watching the other schools perform was really cool – all of their dances had really cool parts and moves. I was feeling excited to perform ( I’m not the kind of dancer who gets nervous alot ). When it was our turn though I will admit I was shaking walking down the stairs but the second my foot hit the stage I was chill, calm and excitedly waving at the crowd.
There were 1400 people in the audience waiting to see our performance! While we were performing I just run through the next move in my mind not thinking about anything else. It was so fun and we got a lot of cheers!
I definitely love these experiences and will miss them when I leave.
