Cultural week in our school has just passed and we had a great time!
Each class had to pick a country and ours was France. We created models of famous landmarks that are in France like the Eiffel tower, the Louvre (which is a famous museum that has the Mona Lisa) is what my group did . We created google slides that had information about things that originated in France, I did mine on pétanque which is a game where you throw metal balls towards a target called a piglet.
We also created Matariki lanterns for Matariki using paper cups, I designed mine with a koru and a multicolored six-pointed star. We poked holes into the cups with drawing pins and nails, we had to put pool noodles into the top of the cups so they wouldn’t get crushed by the nails.
On Thursday we had a cultural festival and there was tons of free food from lots of different countries but I reckon the spring rolls were the best, there was also a food cart outside and I bought a fizzy drink with $3 dollars and on the last day of cultural week we got to dress up in a cultural outfit that we admire. There was a sausage sizzle and there was fizzy drink and sausages with bread.
