Swimming lessons have now finished and we have all been busy practicing for our Aroha Festival performances on Tuesday 31st March. Last week we all worked together to create a “village”. This turned out to be a lesson about not jumping to conclusions or judging others before we know the facts. We were all highly engaged and worked tirelessly on the project.
In Maths we’ve been learning about Geometry shapes and orientation, such as translation, reflection, and rotation. We used our carpet tiles to demonstrate translation and rotation by having Leighton give commands to our “robot”, Jasmine, to navigate her way to Aerhyl on the otherside of the room by using only Mathematical language related to Orientation. We continued learning about this topic in our Art by positioning a koru on our paper to show the orientation.
Congratulations to Soraya, who won Tama for Week 8, and to Kairo, who has taken Tama home for the weekend after Week 8. We know that your families will be feeling so proud of you both.
