Year 10 Burger Competition

Recently we had a Burger Competition, where each group designed and cooked their own burgers. We were rated on our poster design, the texture of the burger, the flavour of the burger, and the creativity of the burger.

We used brioche buns, coloured lettuce, and pickles all to add to the rich colours in our burger, in return this helped our burger to look more fresh and appetising, rather than bland. We also added Worcestershire sauce into our burger patty to give it a deep brown colour, rather then a greyish brown.

We included pickles and lettuce to add a nice crunch to our burger, which helped to give it a variety of different textures, as well as our bun, which we toasted in a hot pan with oil.

We used both Worcestershire sauce and diced red onion to help enhance the flavour of our beef patty and give it a little sweetness.

We were hoping that those who eat our burgers experience a variety of textures and flavour combinations. We hoped our burger would have a little sweetness and tangy flavour, and that it would taste as good as it looked.

We were successful with our final presentation with our variety of rich colours, and a tasteful, and creative look.

If we were to do this practical again, I would make an effort to make our burger more creative, maybe by adding another ingredient like bacon, or using a better quality cheese.
