T2 W2 Science:Chicken Wing dissection

Hello, and my name is Caiden and I will be talking about the chicken wing dissection in science. During this dissection we were cutting a chicken wing to expose the tendon and bones of the chicken wing.

Aim:

During this lesson the aim was to look for the tendon and the ball and joint while cutting into the chicken

Method:

Stage 1:Mister came around and used a scalpel to make it easier to cut around the joint and tendon

Stage 2:We grab the scissors and used it to cut around the joint to expose the joint during this stage we didn’t see much of it

Stage 3:After cutting into the chicken wing found and saw the bone exposed with the tendon on top and it was white

Photos:

These are not the chicken we dissected we did not record a video or took a photo while doing this

Discussion:

Function of the tendons:The tendons were used to help keep the joints from falling off each other and also helps with moving

2 Bones:

During this experiment we saw two bones the femur and tibia

The tibia and the femur do the same job which supports the weight of the entire body and helps smooth action like running walking etc it also anchors down the muscles and ligaments but the femur supports upright movement.

What is the functions of the elbow(Hinge)

It helps by supporting the arm to bend forwards and backwards by using a joint hinge.

That’s all thanks for reading and goodbye.
