We wanted to make a solar oven to cook chocolate button on a cracker.
First on Friday we made a solar oven by cutting a box into a square shape, but not cut to the point where it comes off Sharon cut it to the point where it was almost cut off but left about a 5 centre meter space! Then Sharon put tinfoil on the square cut out so it can reflect to the cracker and chocolate button so it can melt. After Sharon taped tinfoil so it can reflect the suns heat to the black paper then the black paper will be hot and make the chocolate button melt. Next Sharon got plastic wrap on the base of it so no bugs, insects, and plants get inside.
Next on Monday we put the cracker and chocolate button inside of the box for it to melt!
After the third break Liz grabbed the box with the crackers inside and said our names 1 by 1 to grab the cracker! The chocolate button looked like it wasn’t melted but when I took a bite it was crispy on the outside and in the middle it was gooey melted chocolate! It was SO yummy!
I learnt that you don’t need to use a real oven or microwave to cook food that you can eat you just need to use solar power and trust the sunlight!
Finally after we ate the cookie we went on Canva or Google docs to make a copy of the cardboard box!
What would you do if you licked the chocolate button thinking it wasn’t melted and it got all over your lips?
