WALT: Identify the audience and purpose of texts and how language is used to influence the reader!
This week I have been learning about the Victorian and Elizabethan Era it is very different and interesting. My book is called The Book Of Beasts!
I created this on google docs But a lot of the writing was already there I just had to fill in the blanks ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ!
This create task shows the two different sides of Lional!
Here it is!
Part A: The Royal News
Who is reading? The people of the Kingdom.
Your job: Fill in the blanks using the Grand Words to make Lionel sound like a magnificent, brave leader.
Grand Words: Magnificent, Royal, Dignified, Splendid
“Today, our Splendid new leader, King Lionel, arrived at the Palace. He looked incredibly Royal as he sat in his Magnificent coach drawn by eight white horses. It is clear he will be a Wonderfull ruler!”
Part B: Nurse’s Secret Text Message
Who is reading? Nurse’s best friend.
Your job: Fill in the blanks using the Funny Words to make Lionel sound like an ordinary, messy kid.
Funny Words: wiggling, messy, runaway, dirty
“You won’t believe it! Lionel is King now, but he is still just a Little kid. Before the crowning, he wouldn’t stop wiggling around. He even ran out the door with disgustingly dirty ears and became a Messy King without his handkerchief!”
Part C: Reflection
Why do you think the writer has described Lionel in two different ways?
Because depending on who is writing or speaking they think differently!
Do you like it? Here is some more info!
I struggled with this task because I don’t Know?
I am proud of my work because it looks nice and I think I did a pretty good job!
