27 July 2026 : Balloon Cannon
Kinetic Energy: Kinetic energy is used in this experiment by the motion of the marshmallow launched into the air.
Elastic Potential Energy: Pulling back the rubber of the balloon stores elastic potential energy, which converts into kinetic energy.
Gravitational Potential Energy: The converted elastic energy into kinetic energy to launch the marshmallow, which then gains gravitational potential energy as it rises against gravity and loses it as it falls back down.
Sound Energy: The snapping balloon skin creates air pressure waves. The rapid vibrations travel through the air as sound energy.
All of these converts into each other during the launch (marshmallow flying) Elastic Potential Energy – Kinetic Energy – Gravitational Potential Energy – Sound Energy.
