hello blogs!!
Today I’m going to be blogging my inquiry and the topic is history(specifically the Elizabethan and Victorian era)And I’m going to be blogging first about the difference between the rich and the poor back in the Victorian era in the 1800s
so we had to do a venn diagram and compare them and clearly the rich had a better life than the poor,men wore suits and waistcoats and top hats meanwhile the women wore long dresses with hoops and petticoats,children would have many toys such as teddy bears,dolls,doll houses and train sets,their houses were very fancy they would have beautifully polished wooden floors and beautiful framed portraits and they also had maids and nannies and cooks that would cook them roasts and pudding and more delicious food every dinner,and parents could afford their children proper education.
Meanwhile the poor have to work in factories even in the age of 4 -11.They have to work in dangerous factories that killed some children just to make clothes.Girls had to help with cleaning houses and cooking meanwhile boys had to help with other things like mechanic work or something I kinda forgot but in my opinion that’s sexist.Kids would have to walk barefoot every season and even in winter!!Kids would only play with marbles since parents couldn’t afford any more toys.Families also had to squeeze into 1 tiny room which would make them sick sometimes.Families also had to only eat bread dipped in porridge every dinner or sometimes nothing.
anyways that’s my one task done and I have another one which is this word find for the Victorians and I found all of them
the words were workhouse,Queen Victoria,inventions,poverty,orphan,steam engine,cane,school,chimney sweep,marbles,factories,servants,Prince Albert,hoop and stick and mines!
Reflection:its really fun especially the work find that was pretty fun but not when I crash out trying to find the words
