What a Term, Term 2 has been…

Kia Ora Whānau,

It has been such an enjoyable term that week 10 (next week) has snuck up on us fast…time really does fly when you are having fun!

Room 3 truly are the best class. We have been able to have two class rewards (almost three) so far this term due to the dojo point we collect when we display our school values.

Be respectful, responsible, connected learners is at the heart of everything we do in Room 3.
We show respect to ourselves by trying our best, respect to others by using kind words and gestures and respect to our school by doing things that make others proud.
We are responisible for our belongings, actions, words and learning.
We stay connected with each other and form new connections whenever we can both online and in person.
Being a learner is the reason why we come to school.

Room 3 is a lovely place to be.
We are so lucky to be welcoming students from Room 1 into our leanring space and are expecting some other new faces to join our class next term.

Don’t forget to check out our indivudual student blog’s too.

Ka kite ano,

Mrs Po-Ching

Reflcetive Diary

Hey everyone, Today for PE we have been Play football. What I think about PE I think that PE is really fun to do bc I get to do what want to do and then I can join into the team and work around and then we can see what we can do in PE. What I think of PE is that it is really fun to do and that I have a good team that I can work with. As a team. PE is my favourtie subject because I can run and work as a team and do the teacher tells me what to do and I will do what tehy tell me what to do and I will do it. And not sit there on the side and say omg this is so boring I dont want to do this anymore I wanna change. That is not how you do it.

Interpersonal Skill #1

Highlight the skill that you are going to use today

  • supporting and  otherencouragings
  • giving and receiving feedback and feed-forward
  • effective communication
  • Inclusiveness
How did you demonstrate this skill in the activity today? Giving People in my team feedback on trying to pass it to your team mate so then they can try and get the ball into the goal and score a point. But the thing is that you work as a team and you give nice feedback not saying any rude comments of what you say to your team other ways they wont past the ball to you.
What effect did this skill have on your team?

Incarged in my team to past the ball to them.
How did these skills positively influence your team? By not yelling at them and doing the right thing to get the past to your teammate.
Next time I will develop my use of…………….

By doing………….

Getting one of my teammates so they can only have one person in the goal instead of everyone.

And Saying names so then they can kick the ball to me and then not saying I am over here. Then they wont know where to kick the ball and they will just kick it to the next team.

We could just have one game playing and not two bc when we had two games playing we just had not that much space to have to kick the ball. So next round lets see if we can get one game going and not two.

One game is better then two games. One game is better for me to play because I can have more room to run around and kick the ball to the next player that is in my team and so then we could put the ball in the goal to win.

But the best bit of the game is that I am where my other team mate is and that they are in the goal and I am a little bit ford and when the ball comes to me i will just kick it and they will have to go chasing after it. Football is the best sport for me bc I like getting involved in the game and not sitting out. To do nothing.

Sinking Battleships

Aim:

I want to know how to make a boat that can hold as much weight as possible before sinking.

Research:

Method:

Equipment

  • One 30cm x 30cm square of Tin Foil
  • Bucket of water
  • Weights (we will use rubber bungs)

Instructions:

  1. Get your equipment.
  2. Fold your foil into a boat by following the instructions in the video.
  3. Float the boat in water.
  4. Slowly add weight until the boat sinks.

Results:

Discussion:

Buoyancy is the force on an object making the object rise or move forward. Large ships are less dense than water. Your foil boat floats as a result. Your foil was folded into a form with a high volume that absorbs a lot of water. Because of this, the aluminium foil on your boat weighs significantly less than the water it moves.

The upward force on the boat immersed in water is equal to the weight of the water displace by the boat, this is call Archimedes Principle.
