Our Radial art.

A radial is a repeated pattern around the center. I used my favorite colors purple and blue.

This reminds me of my pretty rose at home in the garden. This was a fun and joyful art work and even I tried my best to make it balance.

Forensics: Foot and Height

Aim: Find out the approximate height of each of your classmates by measuring their feet.

Equipment:

  1. Ruler

  2. Pencil

Method:

  1. Have the students in your group remove their shoes.

  2. Measure their height.

  3. Measure the length of the adult’s left foot from the wall to the tip of the big toe.

  4. Use a chart like the one below to record your measurements.

Results

Name Sophia Foot size 27 Height 156  Total 17.3

I found out that if you divide your foot size by your height and times that by 100 you get a total, which is a percentage that tells you roughly how tall the body is. For example, it’s a criminal investigation, and the criminal left a shoe print in the dirt or wherever if you measure it you could get the total a roughly find out how tall the criminal is.

Finding Art in Me

Our focus for this term is about finding art in me. Today we learnt one principle of art which is balance. There are 3 types of Balance in Art. The Symmetrical, Asymmetrical and Radial balance Pattern.

A radial pattern is a repeated image or shapes evenly from the centre. We used different shapes like, triangle, square, stars, circles, flowers to create our radial pattern. Then we coloured/painted using the different colours.

Here are some of our radial patterns we have been created so far. It was fun.

My Inspiration.

My sister

Who are they?

This person that inspires me is my sister who lives in Australia. She was born in 2005, if you didn’t know. She has been there for me all my life, just not in real life, online. My sister is currently in college and is in Year 12, she is 17. She is also that kind of person that likes art and likes to play instruments like, guitar, piano and the flute. She is kind of amazing in my opinion.

Write about their life.

She was born in New Zealand but moved to Australia in 2015. She currently lives in Sydney still, but it’s okay because she visits every christmas, and sometimes when it’s her birthday. She works at a Starbucks near her house, which is amazing! She is always talking about how awesome her job is and how she is never going to quit! Another thing she does when she is at college is apply for art competitions. She came 1st in 4 competitions which is amazing. When she has nothing to do, she always calls me to see if I want to play games with her, obviously I say yes! Anyways, this is the person I look up to.

How do they inspire you?

She inspires me in many ways, sometimes I try to impersonate her for fun! She is so good at playing instruments, sometimes, I want to be as good as her to make her proud of me! Another thing she is really good at that inspires me is maths, everytime I throw a question to her, she always answers straight away like Albert Einstein. I’m so inspired by my sister that I want to be exactly like her, same clothes, same instruments, same art, same..everything! Anyways, the main reason why she is my inspiration is because she is so good at everything that I envy! Sometimes, I remind myself that she loves me and she is proud of me.

I, Myself And Me

Kia ora! My name is Oscar and I am a year 7 that goes to school in the Horowhenua district. I like to play quite a wide range of sports such as basketball, water polo, soccer and rugby. Next to this, I also like to play some less physical sports like chess. My favourite school subject is definitely math but I really want to learn more about woodwork and machinery. When I get older I would like to change the world through the digital.
