Hello,
Today in my blog I’m going to talking to you about what I’ve been learning in our Passion Protect. I’m in a group with Jhrnylle and Chytel. We chose to do the Blind, Deaf and Mute Challenge. During this project.
Summary Poster: Link
Aim: Being able to successfully do the “Blind, Deaf & Mute” challenge.
Full write up
Plan: Blind, Deaf, Mute
- Aim: Being able to successfully do the “Blind, Deaf & Mute” challenge.
- Challenge: Make a Cake using 3 senses (Deaf, Mute, And Blind), we’ll be taking a video. Do the “Whisper, charades & obstacle course” Challenge.
Independent variable: Adding a bit more ingredients such as icings and we’ll be reducing the amount of sugar.
Background info ( Why you have chosen, Past Research/Activities)
- We chose this project to show the importance of our 3 senses, and it’ll be fun during the process.
- Activity: (3 members in each group). 1 member in each group will have to start with the obstacle course, and the other member will be doing the whisper challenge, then the other will have to do the charades.
Win: We’ll be using a timer, we will record each group’s time and the fastest wins.
Equipment/Ingredients: Spoon, Bowl, Flour, egg, sugar, vanilla extract, baking powder, milk, butter, food coloring, P.E equipment, baking pan and timers.
Equipment/Ingredients (icing): 1 ½ a cups coles soft icing mixture, sifted
- 25g butter, softened
- 1tbsp of milk or water
- Food coloring
- Bowls
- Wooden or just a spoon
Method: Prepare baking pans, preheat the oven, stir all the dry ingredients together, combine the butter and sugar, then the eggs one at a time, combine wet and dry ingredients then put the batter in the pan.
Icing Method: Mix the icing sugar, butter and milk all together in a medium bowl until it is all smooth. Add just a touch of milk or water to get it a glossier consistency. Then add some food coloring (just enough). Now mix.
Hypothesis: We think the cake will fail, we are aware that we’re still able to communicate but one sense will be missing for each of us.
Deaf – see and talk
Mute – see and hear
Blind – talk and hear
Results: (Picture/Link)
We took a video when we were baking, but for some reason we are unable to add the video.
Here’s the obstacle course and the Charades video that we took with the class.
