Hydro-Electric dams NZ

Hello,

Why are Hydro- Electric power so important to NZ?

Hydro Electric power is a very effect and cost effective source of power for a so sparsely populated country. These dams are very cost effective and use the replenishable resources of New Zealand. They produce more then 55.7% of the countries electricity which is a massive amount.

This is only possible due to the important features like the large amount of mountains and rivers, plus the rain amount on the islands. It was possible to build them because NZ has large uninhabited areas which are perfect to build a dams and produce the energy of the country. It is also cost effective and last a long timed, but they can produce energy non-stop! This is because there is not unlimited water so they will drain the water after a while so there are Perseid when the control gate is closed so the water can not pass through!

But the most important thing sis about it is that it is using a replenish able resource so it will not run out and will return in the form of rain form the mountains, so it is going to start all over again.

Do you think that Hydro Electric power is good in NZ?
