on the 29th and 30th of December 2023, I did the Rebus Step it up Task for the Summer Learning Journey. For this Step it up task we had to make a Google slides or Google docs and make a Rebus puzzle with emojis, images and text. I choose to do the Google slides one because I wanted to try that one.
First I got a new Google slide, and then I started to make it. I looked at some examples on the Summer Learning Journey blog and soon found out how to make it. I made it and it took me about half and hour or maybe a bit more. I really liked doing the Google slides because I had never made a Google slides to do with Rebus Puzzles so that why it was really fun!
The challanging part was choosing what puzzles I should put in for this activity. The easy part was making this blog post and also making the answer slides. The answer slides were easy because I already knew the answers and Ii didn’t need to work them out or anything.

Bug of the year Kick Start
Here is my bug of the year summer learning journey’s task. My bug is like a triangle ladybug with a tail, his name Trifly. Trifly can fly and is the fastest running bug. He has a hard shell and big wings.
Ping Pong Battle Games – SLJ – Step It Up – Blog Number 16
Hello everyone,
Today I am going to blog about my ping pong activities because I did it with my best friend Angus when Angus and I had a sleepover at my house. The sleepover lasted for Friday till Saturday. The person recording Angus and I was my beautiful mother. We did this video outside of my house on the deck. Here is the video of Angus and I doing the ping pong challenge.

The first challenge was to get the big ball into the laundry basket and the second challenge was to get the small ball into the paper cup. It took many many tries but we finally did it.

Colour Block Landscape – Step it Up
This week I did the Colour Block Landscape – Step it Up Activity, this is where we make a colour block SUNSET with google drawing. I made my one simple, but ended two people in it. I tried really hard to make it look like an actually sunset in here. And I think it looks pretty good. Anyways, what would you do at a beach? I would probably go swimming but I sometimes get scared if it’s deep, I almost drown before in a swimming pool which is why I have a fear of deep ends. Also I would really love to eat BBQ at the beach!

Pingpong game
First we got some ping pong balls, then we tried bouncing them in different places. We found out that tiled floors work best.
At first we put a container on my head but it kept falling off, then we tried containers tied to my hands.
This game was hard, and it was fun.

Shadow Art – Kick Start
This week I did the Shadow Art – Kick Start Activity. It was all about going outside (if it was sunny), then looking for a plant or something and trace their shadow. In my backyard, it’s pretty dead. I think the hardiest part of doing this activity is tracing the shadow because when it’s sunny, it can also be a bit windy. And the easiest part of doing this activity is colouring my shadow art! Because I love to colour in stuff, I even have a colouring book to relax my mind.

Obstacle Course – SLJ
Kia ora ,
Today for the summer learning jourey it was to do a obstacle course. I did mine in the back yard using thing i found outside I weaved in and out, I ran, I threw a ball and even took a cold plunge in the outside bath. I enjoyed this because your outside and you get to move around. I found it challenging to weave in and out of the fence because I had to go so low to go under. for the step it up form the slj we had to watch some video like last time and we had to use numbers instead of shapes. This was not very fun because it was just the same thing as last time. Here is my work.

Today I did the step-it-up Ode to Joy activity. We had to compose our own music. It was really fun to make my own even tho it was not the best. My music is based on life of how it can be slow and fast and like a roller coaster. I linked it down below so you can check it out.

Colour Block – Step it up
I completed a step it up activity from the summer learning journey.
The activity was to design a sunset or a sunrise on the beach.
I started to design how the sinrise would look. I added the colours yellow, purple, and blue for the backround. After that I designed the sea and sand with the lines curve. Right after that I added the sunrise behind the waves and rocks on the waters. Making connection with the comicquest I added the photos they provided. I used the crab, sand castle, bucket of sand, and a beach ball as well as creating my own beach umbrella.
I found this activity interesting because I had to chose what the different colours they use for sunset and sunrise.

Overcoming life And Experiencing More
Kia ora,
Tonight, I am picking up where I left off with my writing, which was a poem. Finally, as I prepared to attend a funeral tomorrow, I realized life lessons and meanings while writing these poems. My life lessons have taught me much more than just how to recover from mistakes and that life is not all about one thing. Consider your life to be a book, with one sad chapter followed by another; consider everything that happens each year to be a chapter of a book. Not everything will always be happy, but there will be happy and sad times. Not only that, but there will be times when you feel overwhelmed and angry. I had times when I did not want to get over things and learn about them, and it was difficult, but I learned how to get over the majority of it and learn from my mistakes, and I hope everyone else does as well as myself.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and enjoys reading my blog as much as I did writing it. and I hope to be able to tell you more about how my holiday has been and how it went. TBC
SLJ (Shadow Art) Kick start activity 25
Hello, welcome back to my blog.
In today’s activity I am going to share my shadow art I did. shadow art is a type of art where you get an object, and place it on your paper then the shadow will appear of that object you put there. I did one about a butterfly using it soon. If you want to make these smart and cool drawing ideas follow the steps.

For the learning art I just had to follow 1 step which is to watch this video about shadow art instructions here is the video.

Shadow Art
Step up your paper so that an object nearby creates a shadow . Trace around it, then if you’d like to colour it in and make a background to go with it. I coloured the butterfly but i didn’t add a background, you can do it if you want.
Tohatoha l Share
Lastly for share, I had to take a picture of my art and share it on my blog. I also had to write a comment that tells you what the easiest part was and what the hardest part was.
The easiest part was to draw the butterfly, but the hardest part was to set the angle of the flashlight so the spoon could stay in the right place. I used a tripod to settle my flashlight in the right place. I also had a times lap video to show you.

Vibrant Viola- Kick start
Today for my Summer Learning Journey I watched this very interesting video about a bird that plays the cello. After we watched the video I clicked onto a link that shows me the game and I played by simply just swiping my mouse side to side. I could play 2 different modes called Freestyle and concert. On concert it teaches you how to play a song by swiping it at the right time and right sides, but on freestyle there was many different notes and I could make my own music. Shadow Art
For today’s task for the Summer Learning journey, we did shawdow art. First we watched a quick short video that tells gives us some ideas on how to create your very own shadow art! For mine I used a pot plant outside and traced around the shadow to create a picture, then I looked at some ways that I could make it into something else! If you want to have a look then here!
