Valuable Vibrant VR Fun

This week we had a visit from Blake NZ-VR. The focus of the session was about Marine mammals.

The 3 things I found the most interesting about marine mammals were That they could breathe underwater for longer than humans and they worked with family when newborn and last of all they have live-born meaning they don’t or have eggs or Roe I found these interesting because they are like fishes but they have differences the thing that surprises me is that they live underwater but they don’t have gills to breathe underwater!

Something I enjoyed the most was the VR was so lifelike and it felt like I was actually seeing the fish not just looking at some random video on my chromebook because I like knowing that you are looking into a VR but the feeling that when you look around the screen doesn’t move with you it lets you see all angels not just forwards or backwards.

My favourite part of the VR session was seeing what the video had to show me and knowing that I didn’t need a submarine or a scuba suit or even goggles to see it! Because  I wouldn’t like to feel the cold wet water on my skin while trying to watch a fish. Meanwhile it’s trying to run away so I am glad we had the chance to see the VRs with Alice and Shan and some more of the BLAKE team.

Something I will take away from this visit was that the people who didn’t like the water or where scared of drowning or coldness or going too deep had a chance to see some things that they probably wouldn’t see for their rest of their lives because they don’t have enough tech now to make scuba suits that last for five months before they would run out of air they don’t even have scuba suits that would last for a day! So I know that seeing the VRs today was something that some kids will never see so I know that we were lucky enough to see all those animals with the help of the BLAKE VR team!

Did you know that killer whales are a type of dolphins and narwhals are a type of whale?

What Is your favourite ocean mammal? Mine is the Oceanic Dolphins!
