What steps you took to make your water drinkable?
- Set up my equipment: Conical flask, Filter paper, Funnel, Delivery Tube, and Bunsen Burner.
- First filtrate the water that has: Sand, Copper, Salt etc in it.
- After filtrating clean your Beaker that had the dirty water in it.
- Set up your conical flask on the Bunsen burner with the delivery tube inside it that faces the beaker with icecubes and a test tube.
- Wait for it to evaporate and distillate.
What did you observe at each step in your process?
I observed the new unique steps for this experiment and new equipment’s like delivery tube. I also observed the water evaporating and it turned into water when touching the cold test tube. I also observed the sand left behind in the filter paper and the water that still had copper and salt dissolved in it had a bit blue shade in it. When the bunsen burner was lit the water turned lite green.
What happened to the soluble and insoluble particles during filtering?
The soluble particles still were dissolved in the water and even after the filtering they were inside the water. While on the other hand the insoluble particles didn’t dissolve in at all and were filtered.
What happened to the water and salt particles during distillation?
They were separated from the water due to distillation steps.
