  2. Two ways water enters our atmosphere-The way water enters our atmosphere is through evaporation, where the sun’s energy turns liquid water from oceans, lakes, streams, and more into water vapor.
  3. Why do the sea levels not drop when water is evaporated from it?-The reason the water levels don’t drop is because the evaporated water returns to the ocean through the water cycle as precipitation, such as rain and snow.

Rounding up… what so far and where to now?

Ove the last 9 sessions, I have learnt so much about myself, my teaching style, and how students engage in and learn in reading.  My own pedagogy has been validated as well as challenged along the way, all leading to in-depth reflections about why I do what I do.

The best things about my journey have been:

  • The access to a large amount of resources, not just to have, but to look at, put our own spin on, borrow, be motivated by.
  • Having a mentor – there’s nothing quite like having someone to keep you motivated to achieve all those goals you’ve set yourself! This has been a biggie for me.  The homework was also designed to ensure goals were being met, as well as reporting back to our group on how we had done in this space.
  • Having access to professionals who are easy to talk to and create a very safe space to make mistakes and ask any questions.  They have always run a tight ship in terms of the agenda, again something I’ve appreciated.  Each session I have walked away from feeling like I have gained massive amounts of authentic and practical learning/ activities, that will ultimately benefit my learners.
  • The opportunities to create and engage in tasks/ reading responses during our time together, rather than have to do it in our own time.  This then gave us the time to look at others’ and ask questions, before taking them back to our own learners and using them. I always left each session excited to be trying something different in my class.
  • Always, students’ engagement and achievement have been the end goal.  While I may not see the full benefits of this just yet, I hope that with time and refinement, my own abilities to teach reading effectively as well as the benefits to my students will grow.

So that just leaves me with… where to now?

I think with the holidays not to far away, it will be the perfect time to pull out all my notes and go over everything that we have done so far.  I will make a list of what my priorities need to be… is there something in the student survey that shows no progress?  What did I start but perhaps didn’t finish?  What is humming along nicely but needs some… (hmmm, so much for vocabulary, I’ve forgotten the word…. solidifying?  I’ll just have to come back to it if my memory allows me, ha!) .  I like the way my word works programme is coming along, and the changes to my timetable are working well.  However, I still need to make sure all my activities are purposeful, and that I’ve timetabled in conference/ feedback time.  The share aspect still requires some love, as with our domain change over, blogging did fall to the wayside.

There is so much to consider, but I am grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in this wonderful PD.  Next up is the structured literacy at the Y7-8 end of our school, so I hope that all the learning I have done through this programme will fit in with structured literacy expectations.

And look, I got a badge 🙂  (but not for that word I’m yet to remember!!)

Repa Rugby

Yesterday My friends, Teachers and I went to a repa rugby tournament to play against other schools just for fun. We were getting ready to start walking to Dunkirk. When we arrived we tried to look for a spot to set up our mat. It looked like it was gonna rain but it turned sunny all of a sudden. We were getting ready and training for our first game against Point England. My teacher gave us mouth guards but it couldn’t fit in our big mouths so we just left our mouth guards. The sirens were going off to alert us for our first game, we had 5 minutes to get ready for our game. When we were done getting ready we hopped on the field and started playing. The first goal was to Point England because our defence was bad and their squad was good. We had the ball then tapped and passed the ball to my friend then he passed the ball to the winger which was my brother. My brother passed to my friend then I shouted my friend to do a cut, so he started running to the sides to act like he was gonna run to the side and score but he passed to me when all the players was going for him then there was a massive space for me to score so I scored.

Point England had the ball and knocked it on so it was our turn with the ball. My friend had the ball and gave it to me so I could give it to my brother. All the people were going for my brother so I passed to him and he span so they would fall down and they did and my brother scored.About 3 minutes passed and we had to take a break. It was half time and we had to go back on the field. Point England had the ball so they passed it to each other and scored twice. We had the ball but we accidentally knocked it on so it was their ball. They tried again, we were laughing because we knew we were going to lose but we didn’t care because it was for fun. The siren was going off so we had to end the game. That was pretty fun to be our first game. We had some other games we won. The hard part was our defence so we focused on that and we won 3 games. I was happy because that’s half of our games we won.The easy part was running and passing the ball. I enjoyed the happily day.

The Rippa Tournament 2025

Yesterday there was a rippa tournament and I was going to wake up at 6 am sharp because I wanted to go real bad. I went to go take a shower but I forgot to get my clothes ready last night and it took 30 mins to get ready because my sister told me to do this and that. When I finally got my clothes I took a shower when I had finished getting ready my dad drove me to school. When I got to school the gate was still closed and I had forgot to have breakfast so I asked my dad if I could go the the bakery so I could get a chicken sandwich and he said yes. When I had finished eating I walked back to school and the gate was open when I went in I saw heaps of people. Then when the bell rang the people that were going to the rippa tournament had to line up under the canopy Paula said a prayer before we  walked to the tournament when we were walking I thought it was a very good walk because it was far away.

When we had Got there we speared  our mat on the grass and we put all our bags on top of it so it would not fly away. we only had four games but then Point England wanted to have a warm up with us so we said yes. When we played our first match it was not that bad the bad thing was no one was communicating except the boys. When the match had ended we lost by miles but the second game was better because everyone was communicating but we still lost. When it was the third game I started to tell people to do some cuts and also pass then we won third game we won by miles. Then on the second to last game we won by one point and at our last game I spoke to my whole team to lock in and we had to win because we lost two and won two. At the end we won by one two points. Then every school gathered in to take a massive photo and before we even went to the tournament I made a deal with my teacher Mr Bell the deal was when I score 6 tries  you owe me a mince and cheese pie now he owes me 5 mince and cheese pies.

Should/shouldn’t Goku trust Bulma?

Should  or shouldn’t Goku trust Bulma?Well Bulma might do something to find all the Dragon Balls:

First she might be using him to make a wish of her own.Like a really cute boyfriend because she’s spoiled.

Second,Bulma might be leading Goku to a dangerous place to try and kill him.

Goku should trust Bulma because she has all the accessories to find the Dragon Balls and survive.

Last thing I had an idea of is that Goku has the power to change peoples personality and help him find the Dragon Balls with Bulma.

We did this because we had finished a book and Mr Bell Had introduced us to the Dragon Ball book.He read it to us and made us do some activities and one of them is this one.It was really mid to do cause you really have to think of some ideas.

Oliver with a Twist.

Welcome to my blog!

My school did a school production and it was about Oliver with a Twist.

The part I played was dancing for Bill Sykes it was fun.

I enjoyed the last part when Bill Sykes said he was not Bill Sykes it was so cool and I was so excited when it came.

The thing that was challenging was learning all the actions.

My favorite character was Oliver Twist.

The Twist was that now body died and that Bill Sykes is an undercover Cop.

Oliver with a Twist production.

Kia ora friends!

At my school we did a production and it was Oliver with a Twist this production was very fun to do so I will tell you all about my school’s production.

You got to audition for the Oliver with a Twist production. I did not audition but I did get to do a dance the song was Bill Sykes. I had very fun doing this group dance. Although I wish I did a different group dance I am happy that I got to be in it.

I love the part where a cop after every sentence said “Arrest her!” And then the other cop said “WILL YOU STOP TRYING TO ARREST PEOPLE!” Then the cop said again “Its me job sir.”

There was one challenging thing remembering all the songs except the solos.

My favorite charter was Fagin because I like how bossy she is and I love the role and her name.

The Twist was no one died at the end and that Bill was a cop.
