My SLJ kick start (tounge twister!)

Hello Bloggers!

Welcome back to Somya’s blog!

Today I have been doing my SLJ task!

Today for the SLJ task we had to make a tounge twister for a bird!

I have made one about a blue bird!

I have first planned It out on a google doc and now I am publishing it here!

I have enjoyed this task, and I love writing poems and getting to do a type of alliteration poem? I guess I can call it that was very fun!

That’s why I would rate this task a 10/10!

The 4 W’s (Why, Where, Who and When) Have helped me fill out this tounge twister as I have tried to put them all in and make sure it’s still making sense!

I have also as always put the image of the badge that I have earned from this task below so you can also see that!

I have just copy and pasted my final good version onto my blog which I have checked is visible!

So this write’s me near to the end of my task, I have enjoyed and I hope you do as well and like always if you did please don’t forget to comment something helpful positive and thoughtful!

Thankyou and bye bye!

Brilliant blue bird bites, breezing beyond bright blue skies, battling blustery, bursting boldly on the beach!

Here is the badge that I have earned from this task!

SLJ 2025 Beak Breakers – Kick Start

Today, I did the beak breaking activity on tongue twisters. I watched some people doing a few tongue twisters and then I had to make my own. I was given a selection of tongue twisters to choose from. After choosing, I recorded myself and turned it into a Google Vids. I chose 1 English one from the selection and I also did one in Cantonese that I found from my parents. I decided to do this Cantonese tongue twister because it’s about a spider and its spiderweb which is one of the tasks I did earlier on the start of the Summer Learning Journey. A tip of you are doing a tongue twister is to group the words and practice. This is my tongue twisting video.

How fast can you tongue twist?

SLJ My fantasy animal!

I’ve been really behind with my SLJ recently becauce my holiday has been very busy! I’ll still try my best to keep my Learning going. Anyways, I made my own animal! The featres are on my paper. The reason why I wanted to create a dragon is because Raya and THE LAST DRAGON is one of my favourite movies! This creature is obviously Fiction, and is a fantasy animal! The Dragon Sisu, likes to help Raya on many journeys while Raya is headed off for an adventure. There used to be 5 dragons and 4 of them turned to statues! Because after being touched by Druun, thats what caused some people and the dragons to turn into statues. Raya’s Dad tought her heaps of skills to know she can stay safe by her self, beffore he got turned into a statue. After their adveture they unfroze everybody! Have a nice day bye bye!

Flying squirrel SLJ- Kick start

Task Description; Yesterday I started another summer learning journey task, I have only finished my model today Because I started the activity late yesterday, around 7 pm. In this task I had to study about flying squirrels, and also to make a model of the flying squirrel in order to complete this task.

I have used felt paper and hot glue to glue the pieces together.  In the body I have stuffed it in the middle to act as a stomach and use black marker to mark around the stomach. Then I used the  same pen to draw the face as well as outline the paws so I could cut around them properly. For the paws I just used small pieces of felt and blued them on. For under the tail I used a cream/ skin colour felt while on the top I used the same grey. I did not have brown or light brown felt which is why I made my one grey.
