Tech – Robotics and coding

Today I went to Tamaki college for Tech and we were learning how to control mBots using ide.mblock, mostly focusing on the sensors. At first I didn’t really understand how the sensors worked or how to use the blocks for them, but we learned how they can detect things like distance and help the robot react. I tried making my mBot move and then stop or change direction when it sensed something in front of it. Sometimes it didn’t work properly, so I had to keep fixing my code and testing it again. By the end of the day, I learned how to use the sensor blocks better and how they help the robot make decisions. My favourite part was testing my code and watching the robot actually respond to the sensors the way I programmed it,because it felt really satisfying when it finally worked. It was a really fun day that I enjoyed and I feel more confident using coding now.
