For this week, my classroom Room 9 have been working hard on a persuasive writing piece. We are learning to argue for a statement, while exploring both sides. While I made this writing, I wondered if it was often for schools to have open days on a common basis. I enjoyed working on this topic, and I am looking forward to doing for persuasive writing in the future. Here is my writing!
Should Schools Be Open On Saturdays?
Although many think differently, I believe that schools should be open on Saturdays, free for any student to come at any time; of course accompanied by supervisors. It allows students and families to be open to new opportunities and learning time, free to socialise providing a relaxed atmosphere, and more. In this writing piece I am going to discuss the points of why I believe this statement.
To start things off, schools should be open on Saturdays to allow students and families to utilize school grounds for extra study sessions; opening up access to various activities and opportunities. It provides a quiet, focused environment for learning that is difficult to find elsewhere. It allows students to dive deeper into their subjects, helping those who want to boost their knowledge without the constant ringing of bells, or the schedule of every normal school day. Would you want to boost your knowledge by going to school a little extra, or would you rather not be productive all day if you’d have nothing to do?
This leads to my second point of why I believe that schools should be open on Saturdays. It can simply let people enjoy a safe and familiar space to gather and socialize with a relaxed environment; helping students and whanau explore the school grounds. It turns the school into a positive community ground where families can meet up without any pressure. This helps build stronger bonds between neighbors and gives young people a positive place to hang out together. By opening the gates, it encourages everyone to feel more connected to their local school and to each other.
To sum things up, open days on Saturdays should absolutely happen to schools, it provides students and whanau the opportunity to study more and explore new activities. Also giving access to extra time for people to socialize in a relaxed environment without disrupting any classes. All of these reasons create a positive outcome. Did you get convinced by my statement?
