Why I should be able to go up north during the holidays

Dear Aunty,

I respectfully believe I should be able to go up North for holidays. My reasons are that I can reconnect with family, I will truly know who I am and I will explore new places. For these reasons I respectfully believe I should be able to go up North for holidays.

Firstly, I can reconnect with my family that I haven’t seen in years. Spending time around and with family will help me catch up and connect with family members. Connecting with my long-distance family will help with befriending new cousins or family members. It would also help me find out more about our family and cultural history.

Secondly, I can truly know who I am. Going there and seeing the place where I once grew up will unpack memories that were left there when I left. This matters because I feel that there’s been a piece of me that’s been missing for years. Finding out what I’ve been missing out on means I won’t feel left out or cropdusted when family is mentioning sacred memories that I wasn’t there to participate in.

Finally, I would be able to experience and witness new sights. Seeing new things could lower cortisol and give me indorphins, strengthen my language and structure my mind. It’s important that I go out, explore, learn about new historical sightings and educate myself.

For all these reasons I believe I should be able to go up north for holidays. I can reconnect with famliy, I will truly know who I am and will explore new places that I havent been to since three years old.

Your sincerly

Demitrius
