For the last couple of weeks we have been making Waka. The reason we made the Waka is because we have been learning about the mighty Journey that the pacific Islanders made all around the world.
That’s how the Pacific Islanders found New Zealand by doing the mighty Journey Around the world which I think was really fun to learn about. When the Polynesian and the Hawaiian people found New Zealand and when they first arrived New Zealand was completely covered in clouds.
In my group there was Ayla and Wyatt and of course me! What we use to make our Waka was Popsicle sticks, paper straws, baking paper and toothpicks.
On Monday we walked down to the school pool and put are waka in the pool luckily our waka floated. And it was really fun to watch tell me some sunk but luckily ours Didn’t sink!
