Greetings and Salutations viewers, today in this piece of writing I will be explaining my experience at the Warriors Have A Go Day, what my favorite activity was, who we played with, and our wonderful instructors. So come with me on this ngahau journey.
In the morning, the chilly environment hugged my skin and the many people chatted along the way. As I reached the class, many individuals started to talk about the experience they were going to be having today. Then we started to practice our song called ” Uia ” a beautiful hymn talking about ” to ask ” or ” to question ” our voices were dropped down a bit, and honestly I couldn’t blame them because it was a cold, frigid morning, so our throats were a bit tight and heavy. Then as the sky started to clear up, we were told to head our way towards the wet field. So we formed a circle around the instructors, and they told us all about them, our instructors were – Gayle, Alicia, and Liam.
Their favorite colors were red, blue, and pink, with Gayle telling us about her rugby position, where she started, and her favorite color. A professional female rugby player otherwise known as ” Gayle ” as I already stated, first played when she was 7, and was drafted professionally in rugby league when she was 15, and honestly, that’s a flex. Our first activity was with Alicia, and she guided us towards the assembly. When we arrived, the echoes in the hall filled with laughter and excitement as many of us started looking towards the wheelchairs that scrambled inside the hall. So as curiosity took over us, we took off trying out the fast automobiles. One thing i’ve noticed when we looked at the wheelchairs, was that the wheels were a bit slanted, and I’ve gained notice of this part because most of the wheel chairs i’ve been on had straight steel wheels.
So we played this activity and our first objective was a game called ” touch ” and our main focus was basically like rugby but instead of tackling you touch other people to get them out ( not trying to interpret that inappropriately) and so after that, we played with adrenaline surging through our bodies. In the end our team won and we celebrated with excitement.
This was my favorite activity, not because it was fun and many of us favorites this game, but it was the first time that I’ve actually enjoyed it with many others. Our wonderful instructors were Gayle, Alicia, and Liam, in conclusion, I would like for people reading my blog to encourage you to come to school, because you get to experience live and fun activities with professionals like Gayle Broughton ( that we had today )
Have A Go!
Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you have a wondrful day!
