Hello. I’m talking about drugs again, but this time, I’m not copy-pasting from my work doc. I’ll be talking about two drugs in particular; fentanyl and heroin. I just picked these at random from a site that listed a bunch of them.
Fentanyl is a powerful drug that has been used for decades as a painkiller, however it has a potency to cause addiction. It’s typically used to relieve pain after serious surgeries or cancers, but for this blog, that doesn’t really matter. I’m here to talk about the consequences of it. Regarding these consequences, they can include tiny pupils, headaches, vomiting, nausea, or even death in some cases.
Heroin is a highly addictive illegal drug used by millions of addicts around the globe. The people who take it fear the feeling of withdrawal, which keeps them spiralling downwards into further addiction. It was first made in Germany in 1894 as a non-addictive substitute for morphine. It turned out to be the opposite just like morphine for opium. The immediate consequences include slowed breathing and heart rate, sedation, hypothermia, a rush, or even death in cases of overdose. A rush is the name given to the effect it has immediately which causes a feeling of warm skin and a dry mouth. This usually also leads to vomiting and severe itching.
One’s Hauora is impacted by these drugs about as much as you’d expect. Taha Tinana is hurt by the physical sensations of vomiting and stuff (Not exactly fun feelings), Taha Hinengaro due to the lows and the highs of the drug, Taha Whanau can be negatively effected by severing relationships with family, friends, and significant others, and Taha Wairua falls victim to the lowered perception and the addiction.
These consequences, when put into the PIS acronym, fall under Personal with Interpersonal at the very most. I’m pretty sure that how I got to these conclusions is pretty obvious.
Alright, I’m finally done now. In short, don’t do drugs, it’s not a good idea and it won’t feel too good to be fair. Bye, don’t die.
