Hello! I’m Memphis and today i’ll talk about what Room 1 and 2 did for literacy on the 26th of August in Term 3. That’s right, we had financial literacy with 8 members from KPMG. 4 of the members from KPMG came in, greeted us, and taught us what we were going to do. Their names were Poppy, Ellie, Martha and Tanner. For financial literacy, we listened to them speak about what money is. Money is a currency used to trade or buy something. Money was first known as bartering. Bartering is trading things for other things. Next was metals. People used metals like gold and silver to buy things. Then there were coins and eventually notes! It’s not finished though, as people made digital money, credit cards and crypto.
With money, you can save it or spend it. There’s 2 types of things you can spend it on; Wants and needs. Wants are things that are not essential but can make things better for people like consoles, games, and more. On the other hand, needs are things that you need to live with like food and water. After that, we walked outside in a line and did a quiz. There were at least 10 questions and each one had 4 answers. If you got one right, then you get a Lolly!
What I enjoyed most about that day was probably the quiz.
