Lucy’s Lemonade Stand

Lucy’s Lemonade Stand

One sunny afternoon, a girl named Lucy sat on her doorsteps planning something. The weather is as hot as an oven, the sun being as scorching as a boiling pot of water. Lucy had no money, which she needed. So she put her thinking cap on and soon mapped out ideas. Then, a magnificent idea sparked in her head. Lucy dashed inside the house and gathered up the essentials she needed in a heartbeat. She sprinted towards the pathway. She decided to make a lemonade stand!” This will be a piece of cake!” She thought to herself. Before long, she got her 1st customer, which is Willy from down the street. He stopped by and ordered a cup. “This hits the spot!” He commented, savoring every sip. “I kinda wish you also sold sandwiches, I want a quick bite!” Ooh, a recommendation! Must not disappoint! Lucy bolted to the kitchen and came back with a plate of jam sandwiches. Willy seemed satisfied and grabbed a sandwich on the way to his house. Not so long after, Jenna arrived trying out her new rollerskates. She bought a lemonade and a sandwich from Lucy. “This is divine!”

Jenna complimented. “But you know what would also go well? Some pizza!” Another request? But that’s a great idea to boost business! So she took off and came back with a tray of pepperoni pizza, a classic. Jenna was delighted as she grabbed a slice and went on her way. Juan soon stopped by to get a lemonade with a sandwich and pizza on the side. “What a feast!” Praised Juan. “But I have a sweet tooth. So you add some cupcakes as a treat!” The suggestions keep on coming, but he does have a point! As expected, Lucy dashed to the bakery and came back with chocolate cupcakes. Juan felt thrilled as he took a bite and frolicked away. But Lucy’s energy was starting to drain. Later, Becky came by with her dog, Bonkers. She ordered a lemonade, pizza, sandwich and cupcake. “So flavorful!” Becky applauded. “But dogs deserve something to munch on as well. You could test the waters by adding dog traits to the menu!” Yet another advice. But she’s not wrong… Once again, Lucy sped off to the store and came back with a box of dog treats. Bonkers jumped with joy! But Lucy on the other hand, sh’s at the end of her rope. “As a thank you, Bonkers will show you a trick. Jump!” Becky said. Bonkers leaped towards the dog treat and that’s when disaster struck. Instead of aiming at the treat, he aimed at the stand! Lemonade spilled, sandwiches toppled, pizzas flipped, cupcakes tumbled, dog treats scattered. The stand turned into a total train wreck! Becky gasped. “Oh my gosh, I’m terribly sorry! Here, let me help you clean up as an apology.” Soon, the stand got packed up, and Lucy was ready to turn in for the day. “Well, I think I’m gonna call it a day.” Lucy yawned. “Wait!” Becky exclaimed. “I don’t think I should ask, but… will you be open tomorrow?” Lucy shrugged. “Well, let’s see what fate brings.” The next day, Lucy did open up her stand. But this time, the sandwiches, pizzas, cupcakes, and dog treats had vanished. All that remains was lemonade! Lucy learnt yesterday that less is more and to keep it simple. Luckily, her friends respected her decision and didn’t fuss over their requests not being on the menu. In fact, they like Lucy’s simple lemonade stand!
