Hello, today I am going to be talking about religion around death. Some of the things I have already learnt is that some countries treat death differently like some people have food out for the people that have passed to come collect like putting their favourite food out. I’m here to talk about why and how it is important to care for the ones that have passed on. It is important because they are your loved ones and friends. It is important to care for the ones who are very sad and down its important because they maybe haven’t been or felt this way before but you have so in this kinda situation it is important to look after your friends or family members because they will need it.
The topic I have chosen is
Ashes to Ashes: Beliefs, Trends, and Practices in Dying, Death, and the Afterlife.
ashes to ashes
(For the DDA Doc I Have chosen pro)
(This is something that you could make if you have lost a loved one and turn it into a calander so you will never forget them)
(This is something I have done about my culture and maybe you could do it if you lost a loved one and you could talk about there culture and where they are from)
This is about Practices around death and dying. This is something that will help you more when someone passes away and you can’t handle it well. so this helps by telling you how to feel about it. Some interesting facts I have learnt in this topic is that in some places like the UK they become less traditional and religious about their family or friends dying. I have also learnt there are more cramshins over burial. At the same time, in the aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic, conversations about death are becoming more normalised yet there is no corresponding increase in death.
Some questions people ask is
1.why do people die?
2. How old do you get before you die?
3. why do we have to be religious about it?
Well first is that dying is just a part of the life curriculum, and second it doesn’t matter how old you are you can die at any age, and third is that some countries are religious because it’s a part of their culture so it up to you if you wanna be religious about it but its mostly for country’s that have the religion for it. This would impact your spiritual well being.
Shared concerns around what makes a good death including no pain/suffering, being surrounded by family at home. These all lead to a good way of relieving stress about someone who just died because you have your family and friends there to support you, make you feel better they might even gift you with stuff to relieve stress and it also shows a sign of respect. And this would impact your Social/whanua and mental emotional well-being.
This is just basically saying that when someone dies that was really close to you there are always people there to care and look after you no matter the surcumstances they will be there to provide for you.
