Hallo, once again I have been assigned another scenario to write about.  So it is so it is: You get accused of talking in the English exam.  Your friend had tried to talk to you but you’d ignored them.  You have been bought up about it and now you must make a choice.   (For context we have just completed our pseudo-external assessment, the assessment which will be used in case you cannot go to the real external assessment.)  The goal is to show my internal machinations, my thought process when I imagine myself in this scenario.  In other words my internal monologue.  Here it is.

“Hmmmm, who even accused me man.  Why even, I wasn’t talking.  Who was even talking.  Oh right, him.  This lowlife yet-to-be born infant scum of the earth leech wasn’t even saying anything comprehensible.  He genuinely, leaned over to me just to say 67.  This idiot, was turning his whole body and I was the one called out.  That parasite got me in trouble.  I am not going down for his 1 braincell.  I’ll snitch, what’s he meant to do.  He’s like half my height anyways.  He might actually be a leech who just got the right host.  Yeah this is like half my grade that man can go to the last layer of hell and I wouldn’t care, actually, maybe I would.”

I don’t know the idea just pissed me off that’s how I  would’ve thought.

Today in class we were given a scenario and write a short response what we would think in that moment. Scenario: ¨You get accused of talking in the exam.Your friend had tried to talk to you but you ignored them.¨

I can smell the old curtains draped above me. I can hear the clicking of pens. I can see the teacher scoping the room looking for any distractions. My friend leans over to me and tries to talk to me but I ignored her. This made her more eager to get my attention which made me frustrated. I thought to myself ¨shes so annoying,she talks to much¨

My English teacher comes over and says ¨you need to stop talking or else we will remove you¨ I say ¨Bro what the heck I was´t even talking¨ but the teacher ignores me.

On Thursday we went to Elliots bays to plant 700 trees on this trip we took 2 vans to get to the beach when we finally  got there we had a look at where we where planting I planted around 80 trees I personally think that our team done the best but we all done good ones we planted all the trees we had lunch to end the day, it was a mint day for it

on Thursday we went to Elliot’s bay to plant 700 trees and I played like 80 trees or though I had a sore back I tried pushing myself and I made it to the end and I had a good time and we went on two separate vans one with all boys and the other had all girls in it the boys van was fun we had all the yarns to talk about and we all the snacks and I had a good time

Last week we were given the job to compress all the dirt with a hand compressor and then after finishing off that job we moved on to moving all the timber back down class where Temepara, Maharlia and Matua Jason had organized a spot for us to place all the timber on, so that sort of sums up our week and I hope we get to continue with that paving project soon. 

  Trip to Te Akau

Last Thursday we went out to Elliots bay to plant 700 trees. We left school at around 9am after packing our bags, boots, and lunches into the van taking two, one for the girls and one for the boys. Once we were ready to leave we got into the van and left the school. 

The drive there was alright but it felt like forever. The drive to Russell was really boring and then it was funner once we got out on the ferry. Once we passed Russell the rest of the drive was pretty good and the scenery was getting better the closer we got to Elliots bay.

When we finally arrived we parked up and had a look around before going for a walk to where we were going to plant trees. We planted trees just by the beach so we had a nice view while planting. After getting talked to about the area of where we were planting and why we were planting and the history of the place itself we split off into groups of four to complete a section at a time.

In my group was me,, Charlee, Tui, and Tyler worked in the far area.  We all went to different sections and started planting. After about 15-20 mins we completed our area and started moving on to the next areas to help others. After helping everyone else we all went for a photo down on the beach, it was such an amazing view. 

We all went back for lunch, we had sandwiches made by the school and some of my own lunch. After lunch we hung around for a bit then made our way back to school. Overall this experience was so amazing and I’m glad we had a lovely view in the background. 

Last week on thursday we went to plant trees at Te Akau. When we got there we were taught how to plant them and told a bit of history about the land around there and how it used to be a pā. After that we got straight to work and started planting. No one could keep up with me cause im just onto it like that. after we finished we were told a little bit more about the land and then took photos and then had a feed and then hit the road back to school. I found this trip fun because I like doing hands on work and find it way better than sitting in a class and doing what im doing right now.

Last week the CTA YR13’s started their cabin project.

During the start of our project we encountered an obvious amount of problems but nothing major, we started building our sub floor layout for the cabin. while measureing and cutting our pieces of wood we were cutting two lengths at the same time (double cutting) which kinda set us back abit because I wasn’t really familiar with the technique soo I was abit slow once we nailed the framing together we went to check if it was square and it wasn’t soo we realized that our two outside lengths weren’t exactly 6 metres which would’ve put us out of square. eventually we found the reasons we weren’t square and finally fixed it and managed to square it out.

Last week Temepara and myself had the job to help and organise our timber that we had brought down to our class from the demolishion and renovating we are doing as we are working through our Paving unit.

We had brought the timber down but we didn’t have the chance to think were to put our timber so Temepara and me went to get some scrap pieces of timber that we could use as dunnage which is laid on the ground and you put the timber on top stack them nicely with fillets to keep air flow and look nicer.

In BAC last week we started building a sleep out. Before we started building the sub floor we had to measure the bearers to make sure that they were squared. The way we measured it was squared was that we use a tape measure from corner to corner making sure that they were the same length. We used pythagoras theorem to make one of the corners 90 degrees. I learnt that before building a cabin you need to make sure that your building is squared because if its not then your house wont be stable, making it easier to collapse.

Friday last week Nigel and myself were able to have the opportunity to go out on our Site Safe Course. Whilst we were doing our course  we got to have an insight on how safety is used all the time when we are in or out on site, even during school we always have to think and talk almost all the time about safety without even realising it most times. And some of the questions in the paperwork were easy for me to work through because

Once we had finished our Site Safe Course for the day and got back to school I was really happy that I finally got to do my Site Safe and now awaiting my credits to come onto Kamar.

Last week we delivered finely crushed scoria to level the ground in preparation for paving. The material was spread across the entire area within the former deck footprint, and most of the surface was successfully levelled. However, we ran out of scoria along the left hand side, so that section still needs to be topped up and levelled to match the rest.

Last week I helped in restoring cabinet drawers. I had to remove the handles from them and then sand them down using the electric sander. During this I found out how hard it is to remove rusted screws from wood, that was the hardest part of the whole project and it took me almost an hour to do. By the end of the day I had finished pulling the drawers apart and sanding them.

Last week, Hazie, David, and I drilled blocks underneath the seats to provide additional support. We used 245 mm blocks and carefully positioned them so they were flush with the seat legs. After securing the blocks, we checked that the seats were stable, level, and properly aligned. This helped strengthen the structure and ensure the seats were safe and comfortable to use.

Recipe:

one tin of canned tomatoes

half an onions

2 cloves of garlic

half a tablespoon of sugar

half a tablespoon vinegar

then simmer the ingredients together then press the sauce through a sieve.

On Monday last week we made tomatoes sauce we had a few trips along the way but we successfully made the sauce. So first you cut the onions, Then you cut the garlic. You put those ingredients together to fry but we didn’t Piripi just chucked them in the pot with the crushed tomatoes to simmer. whaea Jamie told us it was okay. Then Piripi and I waited for Draedyn to simmer the tomatoes, onions and garlic. Draedyn also put oil and sugar in there a little while later. After Draedyn was done we used a sieve to get the juice out off the tomatoes. Piripi, Draedyn and my self started eating the onions that were juice after we were done Then we preserve our tomatoe sauce in a jar.

Then we lived happily ever after.

Last week our class held a client day from period 1-4 ( 9:00 am – 1:30 pm ) , the purpose for our client day was to not only practice our massaging techniques but to also see if we were able to remember anything from the past weeks practice rounds .

Last week we only had 2 clients which were covered by 2 people within our class while others were sitting their assessment .

Last week, our Year 11 Health and Beauty class  hosted a  Client Day to experience running a real-world salon. The main purpose of this event was to step out of the classroom and gain hands-on practice with real clients. To prepare, we had to learn many  skills in advance, including  hygiene rules, skin health analysis, time management, and professional customer communication. The day was a mini success even though most of our clients couldn’t come due to being sick, but we had two clients who loved how they were treated and how they felt relaxed. They end result was alright but we wished we could have had more clients.

Last week I learnt how to use a dog bar, and I found it really  easy to pull the nails that are sunken to deep to pull out with a hammer.

I found it really easy pulling nails out with the dog bar , because I would drive the dog bar’s teeth right under the head of the nail trying to get the teeth deep enough to leverage the nail slowly up , I do this slowly because I don’t want the dog bar to slip and stab me. The other hand tool I learnt how to use was the air nippers, they are used for pulling nails out , it pinches nail and using it round grooves to slowly roll the nail out.

From listening comes knowledge.
I listened to Whaea Jaime’s instructions on how to make the dish and learned the steps and ingredients.

From knowledge comes understanding.
I understood the recipe well enough to help my group mates and teach them how to make it.

Ma te marama, ka matatau.
From understanding comes wisdom.
Even though I wished I could chill and make it myself, I used my knowledge to guide others, which made the process fun and successful.

Ma te matatau, ka ora.
From wisdom comes wellbeing.
I feel like I demonstrated this because the dish turned out quite nice in my taste and that helped my wellbeing , and I would definitely make it at home if I could.

and how we did all of this we had one person from my group who was me and I was taught how do make the roux to make the chowder and had to make two of my mates from my group to make it and It was quite fun but I wish I did it myself but it still was a great thing to do with other people.
