Some things that I learned about skating are that its really similar 

The best part about learning about skating was that if you put your legs into a v shape you won’t start rolling back and have your legs spread apart.

29th of April, 9LDO went skating in the hall !

Some things that I learned about skating is that I am very bad at it :3 The thing I enjoyed most about skating was watching people fall over because it funny! The most frustrating part about skating was that I couldn’t do it without a chair. Something I realise about skating is you need to have good balance. Something I need to work on is SKATING !!!

Yesterday 9Ldo my class went ice skating in the hall we all enjoyed skating for some of us it was our first time skating. Not for me though i did it once or twice in queenstown.

Nearly everyone was falling over it is pretty tricky to skate but the floor wasnt real ice it was just plastic and it wasnt cold at all.

That was a cool thing to do with my classmates.

       These are some photos of me and my Bestie Leigha and I was surprised on how easy it was to get the hang of it and get used to it being so icy.

It was one of the most funniest things i’ve done besides Food/Baking. And with that I think that Ice skating was really, really fun

Today my class went ice skating, it was a fun and interesting experience  .

The thing that confused me at first was how to get up and move but at the end I got pretty good at it .

The thing that surprised me was how funny it was to see how many people fall over  . 

Some things that I learned about ice skating safety is we must wear a helmet and gloves.

The best part about learning is being able to ice skate without a chair for support.

Something I did really well was learning to balance on the ice skates.

This term with youth workers was so much fun.

We did so many different things, one of the things was a wall sit challenge and I came first I did it for 6 and a half minutes and it was pretty fun.

And I am really grateful for the youth workers .

Some things that I learnt is dry ice doesn’t melt it evaporates and the gas it evaporates into can blow up a balloon.

The best part about learning about dry ice was being able to learn about it in person. 

Something I realise about dry ice is that it’s really cold but portable.

My favourite character in the story is Bronco because he is very proud of  culture and was never afraid to say what was on his mind.He reminds me that it’s okay to say what on your mind and to be proud of my culture because it has its special ways of  doing things.

The message that I took away from this story is that to be proud of where you’re  from and that you will always have a special connection to your tupuna.

The character that reminds me most of myself is Mallory  because at the start of the movie he was very quiet but once he found the right people , he started to open up which reminds me of myself.

But overall it was such a good movie and had a really good message behind the story . I would watch it again in my opinion.

The thing that surprised me was when the girl died.

The thing that surprised me was the glow worms in the cave i didn’t expect they to be so many in there i didnt even think that was a glow worm cave i thought it was just a normal cave 

The thing that confused me was the fog at the mountain when they ran away from their parents

If I could talk to the author/director I would ask them how did this idea come to mind? Its an amazing movie i would love to see it again

My favourite character in the story is bronco  because of his outgoing personality 

A character I didn’t like was i like all of them  because of their unique personality

The character that reminds me most of myself is none because there not anything like me 

The character that I would most like to be like is bronco because of his love for his culture is admiring 

The character that surprised me most was sam because of how she acts

The character that makes the biggest change in the story is mallory and bronco because of their impact on sam they made her a lot more happier in her last days 

If I could eliminate one of the characters I would get rid of mallory’s dad because he’s kind of annoying but still a good character in the story

The message that I took away from this story is friendship makes life better 

The most significant part of the story is when sam meet bronco and mallory  because of their friendship is admiring 

The theme of this story doesn’t really remind me of anything but its still an amazing movie 

The part of the story that meant the most to me was sam mallory and broncos friendship because its admiring how they where they for each other 

The turning point of the story for me was when sam mallory and bronco meet it was funny and i was excited to find out where the story ends 

If I could, I would change the ending so that sam didn’t die and there friendship would continue with everyone there

I liked the way the author/director told this story because of the unexpected ending 

I didn’t like the way the author/director told this story because it was upsetting when sam died i really thought that she would be okay in the end

The author/director made the story come alive in my mind by the illness sam has and how it can be hard for her body but she still climbed the mountain

The thing that confused me was why the girl was tempted to climb the mountain even when she just finish her treatment from cancer.

My Favorite character was peachy because I want to be her friend

The message that I took away from this story is do not give up until you done it

The thing that confused me was at the end when they saw the girl and had that light thing I didn’t understand.

My favourite character in the story is bronco because he’s a harty maori.

The Mountain by Rachel House 

I thought the movie was ok but I did find it interesting. The interesting bit was that it was Taranaki but I didn’t like the movie because it  wasn’t the movie that I would normally like 

The thing that surprised me was ……………………………..how the girl still wanted to get to the top of Taranaki even though her body was getting weaker & weaker by the second

So what I think of this movie is to never give up when things get hard.

Today in science I went on a trip to a reef to do a survey. I chose to do the crab survey.

One thing I found interesting was how you know what sex a crab is, more specifically an iron crab. You can tell by the underside being either sharp or more rounded. If rounded then the crab would be a female and if sharper than it’s male. I only found two females.

One thing I didn’t like was almost falling over a bunch of times because of the slippery and small movable rocks. Another thing would probably be someone bringing a crab on the bus.

One thing I did well was whenever I lifted up a rock I’d make sure to put it back down in the same place and not crush any crabs that would be underneath.

I liked learning about the crabs and other wildlife. It has definitely enhanced my interest in marine biology.
