Matt Goodwin with us from Pt.England School. Live stream with Kent Somerville – using HD camera, laptop webcam and dromes. All looks great. Aware of what is available and what is possible.
Helpful to know how to set up You Tube channel and own play list.

The idea of creating to learn – useful idea for own pedagogy. Looked at a maths Jeopardy game and how it is made in Google Slides. Did a couple of questions as in attachment below. Intend to use this create idea with a Year 9 class on Friday when students can make own questions and link answers. Should be good !!!

Need to explore more about Google Draw to see how can use with learners in maths class.

Thunder & Lightning

The last past few week we have been learning how to write a narrative my hard was my plan because i had to many option to pick from, my easy part was to bring my imaginary to life, my next step will be to add better language to my writing.

In a small sleepy town, down the hollow street there is  blue house, with a golden cat looking at the vivid sunshine, coming from the sky. Down the steps hearing a cat  meowing fiercely I pick it up,’’oh here you are you tricky cat, I have you been looking for you, where have you been? ‘’ I sit down and play with Tom.

 A big storm seems to be heading this way. I check the forecast and it seems to be 20:00 minutes away, I think to myself we could go back  inside and rap up in a cosy,cushion blanket, or we stay out here for little bit. Sitting there with all the minutes flying past like flash running for victory, I check the time I holler  ‘’ 1:00 minutes left till the storm gets here’’ I pick myself up, flying up the stairs.

Suddenly lightning strikes the tree, the thunder BOOMS!, vibrating the windows shattering them into shards. I rush under the table role into a ball. BOOM! BANG! CRASH! The house tumbles down like rain dancing and tumbling from the sky, I hear everything falling from the wall. I get out from under the table, rush to my bedroom, slam on the brakes, ‘’Tom’’ I holler I look to the left, look to the right, see before my eyes Tom crushed under the big wall POOR TOM.

Matariki Invitation

Today we had made invitation’s for our Kaumatua and Kuia . The invatations are for Matariki day held at Kawakawa Primary School on the 27 of June 2019. What we were trying to do was to make the font the right colour so our Kaumatua and Kuia can read it. Make it attractive so they will want to come and so they wouldn’t want to miss out on all the fun.

Probability Spinner

Problem: I wonder what the probability of getting light blue is if I spin a five side spinner.
Plan: Spin the spinner 40 times and do a tally chart to see how times you get each color.  Inside the spinner there should be five colors in total inside the spinner. Only use one spinner. you might get one out of five.

Math’s Probability Question

Start off by getting a soccer ball and a line of 20 people.  Get each person out of the 20 to try and kick the
ball into the goal from the halfway line.

Using the example, what is the probability that someone will score out of those 20 people.
Write your answer in a decimal.

The answer would be 7/20.  We still need to convert the answer to decimals.  7/20 is equal to 35/100,
so it would be .35
