Tupaia’s history in NZ
Tupaia, a polynesian who used the stars to navigate his journey, assisted Captain Cook in their voyage to New Zealand and many other countries. Tupaia was skilled in many ways such as being an artist,tattooist, and even fluent in many Pasifika languages, and also learnt English while travelling on the Endeavour. Tupaia has not been credited for his help in finding New Zealand, and other countries with Captain Cook. Learning about Tupaia is a very important key part in Nz’s history.

Tupaia – A Short Review Of
Tupaia, a Polynesian who travelled with Captain Cook, was a navigator who used the stars for guidance. Tupaia was fluent in many Pasifika languages, and translated to Cook (in English), although he had to learn English onboard. Tupaia hasn’t been credited for his involvement in Cook’s voyage to Aotearoa because that occurred in a racist time. In short, Tupaia was (and is) an unsung hero due to timing.

Cell Division in Science
As part of our science knowledge on genetics we learn about cell division. In year 10 the students have to know an outline on cell division, for example what is mitosis and meiosis, and the difference between them. We also look at why old cells have to be replaced by new ones.

living as milk
Another day another one gone here on my own in my box of milk. Not having a good time half of my friends got drunken from these devil kids I can’t believe that. I hope that no one see me I’m so devastated that i’m scared that i will died with them but one day i’ll get rotten and died on my own. I have feeling for my friends but also have feeling of my family. My family still setting in the nice cold frag being happy well i’m here going to get rotten. But if I do I would like to say something to the story my family is important and don’t forget that. So well i seat here waiting for me to go back to where I belong with my family and friends I just wait and wait for someone to get me. It’s been days and days and weeks i’m 29 days old getting sick haven’t been to the frag in a mouth and a half hopeful someone gets me out of here. The walls are to deep down and up I can’t do anything and have no friends. suddenly hear something lifting me off the hard bench. The door open I feel the braze from outside I was still in my box staying there quite as. I hear another door open and just as i thought I was going to the frag. I was excited to go back with my family just wondering if they are okay or not. By the look of my eye the family house was gone for good with new box and new house to not live in anymore. My family was gone I was shocked to see that my family was gone even my friends as well

This week we have been learning about the vocabulary for fractions. First we had 8 sections and we had about 100 words that we had to put into the sections. They words were key words that relate to either addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, equality, inequality, variable and find an answer.

in rarotonga i stayed at the edge water resort. in raro we went snorkling 3-4 times and the water was just lovely. the sun was always out even if it was raining. in raro if you wanted to get a 1.5L drink of sprite it would be $7 but if you got a coke it would be $4. gulity free was real cheap in raro, even cigarettes. WIFI over their was not the best but it was alright.
everyone in rarotonga is soooo nice. mainly the lady. when we went snorkling for the last time i saw a blue star fish hidding under a rock. when we went on the glass bottom boat we went snorkling.

15 Minute Writing.
Stomping coming from down the hall. It sounds as if a herd of elephants are running, But because my
hallway is so long I couldn’t really see if anything was coming towards me. I walk back and finish eating.
As I started eating the noise sounded a lot more closer. The ground began shaking and things started
falling off shelves. I walk out the door again to see a big black shadow moving quickly towards me.
I run as quickly as I can behind the door. In less than 3 seconds all I heard was a loud bang as if two cars
collided together in a rush.

The ground stopped shaking and the cutlery sound still. I look through a gap that was in the door to see
an awfully large bull sitting amongst all my plates and cups. I sit quietly hoping the bull doesn’t hear a
thing. It’s silent for at least 10 minutes.I couldn’t understand how the bull managed to get inside my house
knowing i have bar windows and steel doors all over the place. I had come up with a plan I think might
work. I stand up surprisingly without a sound. I think twice before putting myself at risk. What are the
chances of me ending up squashed flat by a bull , I laugh for a sec. I mean it sounds fun and all but very
sore..
I walk out behind the door slowly and quietly as possible. I looked to see what the bull was doing, of
course the bull itself was sitting there eating “my” food. It looks pretty entertained to me i’d say.
I ran straight out the room holding the door knob slamming it as i run out. All i thought to do now is run
till i get to the end of my hallway where a big steel door is.

My trip the South island and Wellington
It was Saturday morning at 3 am then we left to Auckland to get to our plane. We got to Wellsford i fell asleep we got to Auckland we went to my uncles to drop off the van then we got my uncle to drop us off at the airport we got to our gateway and we bought some hot chocolates and when we got on the plane and i ordered lolly´s and more hot chocolate large. we finally got to Wellington then we found out why we were going to wellinton for my uncles birthday we stayed there for three nights. Then we had to get up at 5 to get to our ferri to go to the south we got there by 8 in the morning then we had to go to berlin to get to the birthday houses. We got to the house then we looked around it was a three story there was a little bridge to mine and my brothers room we looked there was a gaming room with arcade games and other then we went fishing on the kayaktes we got to see seals and dolphins we went to the. warith my brother brang the kayakte on the warith then he went down in the kayakte and he fliped the kayakte me and my cousin were sittin up on the. Warith laughing our brains out then my cousin pushed me in the water the i pulled him by the shirt in with me then we swimmed back to shore then we sore someone pull up all of asadin it was my aunty late then we wanted to try pat the seal but we were to scared because it might push us in with it then we sore something flashing in the sky passing us at 10 at night doing later night fishing all of asadin me and my cousn got pushed into the water then we climbed back up on the wairth then we saw three dolphins jump out when me and my cousin got out of the water.
It was our last day in the south we went back to wellinton had to stay there till tuesday came back to Auckland Then we were on our way back home when we got bacck home it was 5 in the afternoon i went to sleep for 2 hours.
i hope you enjoyed my good story about me and my family going to the South island for my uncles birthday and purposel to his boy friend and now we would be going back in two years okay goodbye.
My learners – To blog or not to blog?
That is the question that I have been considering recently. At present I have students regularly reflecting on how/what they have learnt verbally and in different writing (digital) forums.
I always read their written reflections and respond which often leads to a digital ‘conversation’ that is private and targeted at taking that learner forward and/or strengthen our relationship. So-o-o, what additional benefits would blogging bring?
I’m less interested in gaining a greater audience for my learners then gaining additional support/opportunities to prompt my learners forward.
To this end have decided to try a class blog for my Year 12 and Year 13 classes . Watch this space for impact on the learners and their learning.

Today – Google Sites. Making the front page attractive, exciting and interesting. How to insert images with links to the site.Made a website from the beginning – certainly helped my confidence and capability and will use with learners in class.
