Welcome to…“Katipa’s awesome adventures in the land of wellington”
Once every two years, our Principle Jane Lindsey would show a very special piece of action to the year 7 and 8s by taking us to Wellington to see outstanding sights, like the REAL treaty of Waitangi.
Sadly I cannot list all the places we went to on the post, so check out this DLO for more information (still working on it).
Anyway, I personally loved the trip because it helped some of us socialise with people we don’t talk to that much. The other reason was it just helped us to refresh ourselves from all the hardworking we do at school. What I’ve learnt from this is to be grateful for what people do for you whether it’s something small like making your lunch for school or something big like taking you to the museum. NOW I am ready to take on school work once again. BYE.

Session 3 DFI Course

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani’s Learn kaupapa and pedagogy?


Today we learnt about Google forms and Google sheets. Created a survey for the Field Trip students next week, which I will use as my survey form for my appraisal. As I am in many classes have to take every opportunity to use what I’ve learnt in the classes I go into. I will be creating a Google form for the teachers of the classes I have been working with also.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
As mentioned above can now create google forms for my classes and staff as necessary.


What did I learn that could be used with my learners? 
We also learnt about google sheets and handling data. See table re blog posts for a students blog. Could certainly use this in analysing data collected from students.



What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
In my role as DP often analysing data and need to send out surveys. Excellent tools today.

Session 4- DFI Course

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
This session was about collaborative sites. Missed this lesson- but catching up. Used googles forms as part of my Inquiry as appraisal- sent to five classes & teachers involved from our last session three. Following up this week to ensure students and staff; respond. Aiming for 80-90 %  responses.
I understand the importance of sites in teaching a class for rewindable learning.


What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  
Going back over setting up websites- even though I have had some PLD on this already through Mananaikalani beginning of the year PLD it was good to go over the presentations to refresh my memory once more. Will catch up in Session five also.

Session 7 -DFI Course

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Heard from Dorothy about the amazing numbers of levels of connectedness, Manaiakalani has across the sector they serve. We do know that connections and relationships are so important for students in their learning, and in this case increasing ‘visible learning’.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
Creating a ‘button’ of a school photo with colleagues at s senior ball- along information about myself as a professional was a positive learning experience today. I have added to my blog posts- and gained confidence in blogging. Blogging was not an area I was greatly confident in.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  
Learning more about creating google slides and animations to help show/teach my students in class. In this way, we will have a new tool whereby we can ‘create’ and show off our new learning in Science. See example below of my animation.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
I almost feel confident enough to consider creating a personal blog post- regarding my personal interests as compared with a blog on my professional life only. This way can communicate with friends and family at a more personal level.

Session 8- DFI Course

Today I have learnt how to code. I had always been a little worried about coding, because of the patience required to cover every little step and go back and change if necessary. I’m not really a patient methodical person.

Spongebob meme

This is Spongebob. He lives in a pineapple under the sea living next to his grump neighbour Squidward and his best friend Patrick. Spongebob works at a burger restaurant known as the krusty krab which is owned by Eugene Krabs who was in a business rivalry with his former friend Sheldon Plankton who runs the chum bucket selling terrible chum based foods and creates robots. Spongebob’s hobbies are making krabbie patties, jelly fishing which is catching jellyfish and spending time with his pet snail gary. He’s a sponge with eyes, a long nose, a mouth with buck teeth, and arms and legs, plus he wears brown shorts, socks, black shoes, white short sleeved dress shirt with a red tie. If you think it does not make sense don’t ask me, it’s a cartoon for crying out loud!

Fortnitemares


On 2019 Fortnitemares update we got new skins , a new landing spot in the map , some Halloween decoration , zombies and a new gamemode but first lets talk about the skin so we got a Bone Pelly with a built in emote and a Witch with also a built in emote and a Girl Devil ,Zombie Soccerskins , a new pack and more.Next is the gamemode and its name is Storm King where you battle the Storm King from save the world and if you beat him you’ll get a free glider.Finally we got the new landing spot which has no name but it disappeared after the event finished and the zombies are Zombie Soccerskins that pop out from cars , closets and more but that mostly all and I’ll write what event happen next so goodbye.

School opinion

1 Thing I learnt at school is the order of operations and how they work like you have parentheses first then exponents third is multiply and divide and lastly you have addition and subtraction. For example 2+9+6×9= 65 because 6×9 is first and if we add parentheses to 9+6 it would be 2+(9+6)x9= 137.

1 Thing I need to improve on is my reading on reading plus because the stories are really boring and I have trouble reading boring things.

1 thing that I’ve learnt this week is how to do C P R at the lifesavers club at the Otaki beach

1 thing that I need to work on is to listen to my teachers and do as much work as I can

1 thing that I enjoyed this week is at the beach I went on the I R B the Inflatable rescue boat because it was fun and very hard to hold on without falling off
