Today I have been writing a shape poem using my idea sheet I created. A shape poem is a poem where the words are in a shape or pattern to reveal an image. My poem is about wild horses that run on the beach in the summer sun. I really enjoy writing poems and I hope you do too.
To write a poem the first thing you need to do is choose a topic it can be about yourself, your favourite food or even a place or a season.Once you have chosen your topic you need to think of some word to describe your topic like if it was a dog you might say furry or loyal. Now you can start writing your poem.
Fun fact, did you know there are over 50 different types of poems, some of these are limerick, a haiku, an acrostic poem and there are so much more. I found it challenging to get the words to fit the shape of my shape. I enjoyed writing the poem because I enjoy writing poems about the beach. I hope you like reading my poem.
