Working from home

Kia ora all,

Earlier today the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) asked us to take action to help minimise traffic movement on Auckland roads while vital infrastructure is urgently repaired.

With the possibility of further weather damage leading to more disruption, the Secretary for Education has directed that schools, kura, early learning services and Tertiary institutions in the Auckland region (Wellsford to Pukekohe) must close for physical attendance and instruction until 7 Feb.  Apologies but school will now open next Tuesday (7th Feb) and we look forward to seeing you then.

What your child can work on at home:

  1. If you have an ipad or laptop – login into Sunshine online (link here) for audio reading books & activities.  Here is the link for the login and password details (you must be logged into a Edmund Hillary school email).  If there are no older siblings in the whanau with a school email to access the login details please Email me on: moiran@edmundhillary.school.nz (I check my emails regularly through the gmail mobile app so will respond to you as soon as I have confirmed your child’s enrolment details).
  2. Practise your alphabet – link to song
  3. Practise your high frequency words – Magenta words, Red words, Yellow words, Blue words
  4. Suggestions on how to plan & start writing at home with your child – link here
  5. Maths – a list of learning goals for junior students in Maths

Regards
