On the 27th of April 2023 we went to visit the battle of ohaeawai site.
we learnt about the battle and were it happened and how the moari designed and built a safe area for their tribe.
It was made out of two barrier,fences which were made of puriri wood.
it then had a layer of weaved flax between so the canons bounced off.
they also had trenches and bankers deeper for safety.
