WALT: Know the author and their background.
Hello everyone I am back from the holidays.
This term I am doing a novel called Wonder ( Not everyone got to do novels but i was one of the lucky people to do novels!). i am going to do wonders for this whole term. Our first task will question then we do the create! I will keep updating this blog at the end of each week
The first week of this term we are make a poster about the author so since i am doing wonders I am doing R.J Palacio, we had to find fact from this and this link ( the first one in about the author and the second one is about Auggie Pullman) they are both super interesting! we had a choice of doing a google drawing or a canva.

WALT: Unpack sentences within the text.
Hello everyone,
For week 2, We had to make a copy of a slide all about wonder, on slide 4 is shows questions about Auggie ( August ) it had comprehension questions and a Vocabulary, we made a google doc and we put all our answer on there, this is what my doc looks like:

Time i did feel i fit in
The time I did not feel i did not fit or felt i was different as when i first came to this school.
Ordinary
- What it means to be ordinary to me is to be normal.
- August is extraordinary because he had many surgeries and is brave enough to go to a school.
Lamb to the slaughter
Lamb to the slaughter is a common saying that people say lot and sending august to the school is like sending a lamb to the slaughter and is like he will not fit in
When august meet Julian he know he is a bully
When august meet Julian he know he is a bully because Julian ask if he was in a fire because of his face or something, then august reply by saying he was born that way
Comprehension question
- The one wish August wanted was to have a normal face.
- How people react to August face for the first time is disgusted
- I would send August to school if I were his mom because he needs to have a better education and he needs to learn how the real world is.
Vocabulary
- Petrified means when you are frightened and you can move.
- Historical is when you affected by or being deriving from wildly uncontrollable emotions
- Anomalies is when something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
- Obnoxious Means like extremely unpleasant.
- the part of a theater, concert hall, or other public building in which the audience sits.

This week is week 3, for this week we had to do the question, the questions were all about the pages we had read, we had to read page 40 to 80! We had the main question, and the comprehension questions, and also the vocabulary
These were the questions:
- What do you think it would be like to be August?
- What do you think of Julian? Why do you think he acts the way he does?
- August invited his whole class to his birthday party but not many kids came. Why do you think they didn’t go? Would you have gone?
- Did your opinion of Jack Will change after August overheard him talking to Julian? Explain.
- In the chapter One to Ten, why is August feeling mad toward his mother? Explain.
- Why does no one want to touch August? How do you think this makes him feel?
- What is Auggie’s passion?Why do you think it is?

What I think it would be like to be august is to be constantly being bullied, and stared at, and hating how he looks
What i think of Julian
What I think of Julian is he is a bully and he does not like how Auggie looks and thinks Auggie is weird.
Why i think Julian act like that
Why I think he acts like that is because he is a bully that is rude and not nice.
August invited his whole class to his birthday party but not many kids came.

My opinion indeed changed after august overheard what jack will said. I thought that jack will was a good person

Hello everyone,
This week I am reading pages 80 to 117 ( all . I am doing the same thing as every normal week (answering the questions about the pages i am reading and also the vocabulary is well )!

challenges I think Via might face being Auggie’s sister
I think it is always being stared at even by grown-ups, people give you faces like horrified, sickened, and even scared, and people make fun of you .
Do I agree with Via that she and her parents have made a mistake by always trying to make August feel like he is normal?
I agree with Via a little bit because he needs to know how the world is and he is extraordinary, not ordinary.
What are the odds of Via having a child that looks like August? Do I think these are good odds
There is a good chance that Via could maybe have a kid that looks like August because of genetics.
What do I think of Via as a character
I think Via is one of the main characters, and she does not like people making fun of August. She always feels left out because of August.
Comprehension Questions
- I Think what Via means is everyone stares at him and does not want to get too close to him but the other planets ( Via, Mom, Dad) orbit around him like they are protecting him all the time.
- What I think will happen to August when he goes back to school is he will no longer be friends with Jack and he will feel sad for what he said.

- Celestial means positioned in or relating to the sky, or outer space as observed in astronomy.
- Flabbergasted means greatly surprised
