Amber’s Create Tasks 1 2 and 3 Term 3 Week 8

WALT: Evaluate ideas and information in a narrative text

Hi Bloggers!

This week for reading we have been looking at the same books as last week. The books we have been looking at were called Surprise, That’s the idea, Caterpillars, Sprint, No more cats, and The evil drinking fountain. The book Sprint was not there, so we couldn’t read it. The book that I had chosen last week was called That’s the idea. Then the book that I chose this week was No more cats. This book was about were, like there was a girl but I don’t know her name, that wanted to keep her cat named Ginger Stray. But her dad would not let her keep it. It’s because her Dad has gotten all scratches on his arm. So he doesn’t want to risk having more scratches. Then later on he thought to keep the cat. So then he finally decided to keep the cat. After the girl had come from school, she saw the cat sitting on her Dad’s lap. So all of them were happy at the end. The first create task was the same as last week. But let me just give you a reminder. So we had 3 create tasks. This is what you had to do for the first create task. So you had to first, make a copy of the story mapping boxes, and then you had to fill in the boxes that said Beginning, Build upmiddle, Problem, Solution, and the Ending. There was also a part 2 of create task 1. For the second part you had to rewrite the new solution and the ending. So what you had to do for the second create task was, you had to imagine you are a news reporter for your character, then you had to come up with 5 questions to ask your main character. You also had to type it up in a Google Doc. My main character between the Daughter, Mum, or dad was Mum. One of my questions between the 5 was “how did you convince him to keep the cat?” Mum’s reply was, “I convinced him to keep the cat by telling him that I can buy some food and toys for Ginger Stray, so that he can get comfortable with you.” So what we had to do for the third create task was we had to, create a Pixton using our interview ideas. So in the Pixton we had to create as many slides as the interview needed. Then we had to create ourself and the main character talking. The third create task from last week was a fast finisher task, not a third create task. But this week it is, it was. It was fun doing the Pixton. especially when we had to type the words in. I also liked doing the character interview. The mapping boxes were a bit hard. I found it hard because we had to come up with a new solution and ending. So it was a bit hard. Also in the mapping boxes it was hard to fill in all of the boxes, and gather up all of the information. But I think I can improve on making my questions better.

UPDATE: I will update my post once I’ve finished it. 🙂
