Today I read a poem by Rupi Kaur.
These are what I think are the five key words. I think what this poem is saying is that you can give and give your kindness, love and patience because you think you can change the person because you can see the potential they have instead of seeing the person how they are. Your heart is soft and tender. However your still a person and when you give and give from the kindness of your heart you will be left empty, like unrequited love. A quote that I think resonates with this poem says “Time does not change a person, only their choices do” You can give someone all of the time and patience however unless they make changes personally they will not change.
I like Rupi Kaurs poems as she gives a clear answer in a way that doesn’t seem unprofessional. The article I read about the poem says that they don’t think her poems are very poetic. This being because her poems give clear ending’s in what she is trying to get across to the reader. Rupi doesn’t leave to many readers with questions therefore many people don’t really like her poems. I think that if you believe this just don’t read her poems. Her poems are clear and concise without using direct language to get a pretty heavy topic across to someone which I think is great.
