Steps how to do side stroke

The side stroke is one that uses less energy when doing it. what you have to do is make sure when you’re swimming your body is on the side using one upper body at a time while the other side gets the other degree of rest. the arms are asymmetrical. if your facing left in the water your left arm will be on top, if your facing right your right arm will be the upper arm. at the start whichever arm is on top will be pointed backwards while the lower arm will be pointed forward. In sidestroke the leg performs a repeated scissor kick. The top leg reaches forward while the bottom leg reaches back with the knee slightly bent. Both legs come together pushing the body forwards in the water. The leg motion shouldn’t be swift or forceful.
