For our Inquiry topic in Term 4 we have been looking at animals and their enclosures or habitats. The children researched an animal thinking about its needs, wellbeing, exercise and safety, so a visit to the zoo was a nice conclusion to our study. We were able to check out if the animal enclosures were like their natural habitat and if the animals were able to exercise and play within them. During our visit to the zoo the children could be heard discussing and evaluating the different animal enclosures, observing, comparing and contrasting them to their own designs. They were surprisingly accurate in their designs. It was a very enjoyable days learning.
