This week, we kicked off a new unit in graphics, and honestly, it’s been so much fun. There’s something special about turning your ideas into visual designs that just grabs you. We dove into color theory, balance, contrast, and how fonts can really set the tone of a piece. It’s pretty cool to see how all these elements blend together to not only look good but also get a message across.
Getting to grips with design software has been a highlight. Figuring out all the tools, messing around with layers, and experimenting with textures has been a mix of challenge and excitement. It feels like you’ve got this massive canvas where you can try anything, and every slip-up is just a step towards making something awesome.
Our project was to design our own logo, which was a great way to put everything we’ve learned into action. Going from doodling ideas to digitally creating my logo was super rewarding. It’s kind of amazing to see your initial concept grow into something polished and professional.
Sharing our designs and getting feedback was a bit daunting but really helpful. It’s interesting to see how different people can see different things in the same design. This whole process of sharing and getting critiques has not only made my work better but also shown me new ways of looking at things and different techniques I can try.
Reflecting on this week, I’m amazed at how much I’ve picked up and how my interest in graphics has grown. It’s become more than just a class for me; it’s a way to express myself without words, a medium where creativity is limitless.
