For the last three weeks, Talei’s literacy group had to write a persuasive writing about any subject to persuade another person either on buying something or trying to make their choice for them. Persuading is when someone asks/tells someone to try and do something and they might go on and on about what they want to persuade. We also had to include a simile or a rhetorical question in each paragraph. A simile is when you compare something to something else like “The ballerina was so delicate like a swan”. A rhetorical question is like saying “Do you really wanna do…” and try and make them disagree with you so you can prove your point.
Here is what I’ve been working on 
Do you really wanna be wearing 15 layers of clothing when you just want to go somewhere? I personally think Summer is way better than winter. You should too because of all the reasons listed down below. But also on the other hand
winter is still cool, but I like summer most of all. So the question is, Is summer better than Winter?
As you know, Summer is very warm, unlike winter. In the summer you can go to the beach because the sun will be very warm. But when it’s winter it’ll be freezing! It’ll be so cold that you’ll think you’re in Antarctica! The beach is a place for relaxing, surfing, boogie boarding, tanning, buying ice creams, playing in the sand, volleyball, football or any sport. If you go to the beach in winter, it’ll be very windy and the waves will be cold. I love the beach and I don’t see why people don’t.
When it’s summer, you can play outside and do some sports or go to the park with your friends. But when it’s winter, you will probably be stuck inside all day with tissues all over your bed and sniffling from a very bad cold. Summer is also good weather for taking your pets on a walk or playing with them outside at the park.
In the winter it’s freezing cold and you can’t even get anywhere in that cold weather. Winter can sometimes be very annoying, because like I said before, you don’t want to wear 15 layers of clothing with 1 scarf, 2 pairs of gloves, 3 pairs of socks on, and 4 jackets overtop of 5 t-shirts!
In conclusion, you can now see why summer is much better than winter because in summer you can go to the beach and play outside but in the winter you’ll be at home staring outside your window watching the wind and snow go by. If we didn’t have summer our lives would be boring! And this is why we need summer!!
