Today some people went to our school at 9:30. There were 3 people. They were gonna perform a story for us and the main character was this 12 year old girl named Maya (I described her in the story, not the actual actor). This is the start of the story: Maya was introducing herself to us and her family was forcing her to do chores. Then, after the introduction, she comes across these 2 people talking about a man eating bird. They told Maya about the story of the bird and there was a whole song about it. Then Maya wanted to catch it so she went to the cave where the bird resides. After some wandering she found the bird and she was scared at first until she saw the bird was scared. Then she realized the bird was nothing like the man eating bird in the stories. It didn’t even know how to fly! Maya made a deal with the bird that she would teach the bird how to fly if the bird took her home. They climbed a mountain and the bird was scared at first but everyone watching cheered him and it learned how to fly. Then it took Maya home and Maya tried to tell her uncle and aunt but they didn’t believe her because the bird was gone, until Maya told her grandma about it. Turns out her grandma met the bird before because the bird appeared and they knew each other. Then the bird left but gave Maya a feather before going.
