Te Reo Māori: Māori Language Week at Our School

What a fantastic way to conclude Māori Language Week! Today’s school assembly was a celebration filled with energy, creativity, and cultural pride. Each class had the opportunity to showcase their unique contributions, representing their class with beautifully crafted kākahu (cloaks) and performances that left us all inspired. Te Moana Nui a Kiwa put on an amazing    performance that truly highlighted our students’ talent and cultural pride.

We are proud of our students for their dedication and creativity. A special thank you to the teachers and staff who worked tirelessly to bring this event together, ensuring that our students could express themselves and learn about the rich Māori culture.

As we reflect on this week, let’s carry the spirit of learning and respect for Māori language and culture into our everyday lives.

Let’s celebrate Māori culture and language together—“Ake Ake Ake: A Forever Language”—ensuring it thrives for generations to come!
