Manufacturing

Hello everyone,

For the past couple of weeks, we have been focusing on making a balancing toy. I found this experience to be fun, but difficult at times.

During most of my time trying to make this, I struggled at the start, but I managed to get a hold of it. As time moved on, I got the hang of cutting the metal, so it became easier for me.

The part I didn’t like most was having to weld it because I personally think that welding is hard and a bit scary. I did weld once but after I didn’t want to do it again.

Designing something to go on top of the balance was fun; I got to experiment with the wire and bend it around. Later, I decided to just go with the first letter of my initial, ‘L.’

Also, another part I found fun was spray painting it; it was simple and quick to do. I decided to go with silver so it could match the original color of my work.

The last part of making this was attaching the base to the wood and drilling it in. That was definitely the easiest part of creating this. All I had to do was mark the wood where I needed the screws to go and then drill them in.

In the end, the toy looked good and worked well. Other than that, I think the process of making it was fun, and I got to try new things like welding.

Thank you for reading my blog, have a wonderful day.
