Why Did The Dinosaurs Die?

This week we were learning about podcast. Our Walt was to: identify the main idea.

First we had to listen to the podcast and take running notes.

These where my running notes-

Some dinosaurs made trumpeting sounds. By looking at their bones the scientists can figure out what noises the dinosaurs made. There were heaps of different dinosaurs. Some were really big and some were really small. Some ate plants and some ate meat and some even ate both. Also sometimes dinosaurs even ate each other. The dinosaurs ran the world. But then a huge asteroid hit the world. It was so big that it shook the Earth. It caused the volcanos to blow. There was so much dust in the air that it covered the Earth blocking out the sun. That means that there was no food. Only some fish, sharks, crabs, birds and some small animals survived. The birds that we see today are related to the ancient flying dinosaurs.

Next we had to create two or three key ideas using our running notes.

These where my key ideas-

A huge rock from outer space hit the Earth and killed mostly all the dinosaurs.

There are still some sort of dinosaurs alive today.

Finally we had to write a one sentence summary of what the text was about.

My summary was-

A long time ago when dinosaurs were alive a huge rock hit the Earth and killed all the dinosaurs.

The last activity that we had to do was to draw a picture of anything related to the topic. I drew a diagram of an asteroid hitting the Earth
