Early this term we created some amazing DLO’s around our seaweek learning. We used the Young Ocean Explorer website to read our chosen articles, take notes and summarise our information. Here are some of our DLO’s.

WALT:  briefly retell a part of a text or a whole text.

Success Criteria

• I highlighted key words and phrases.

• I found or created a topic sentence.

• I used a dictionary or asked someone to find the meanings of words.

• My summary isn’t just a list of facts – the sentences are linked together to create a smaller version of the original text.

• My summary is written in my own words – I haven’t copied out sentences or chunks from the original text.
